Suzie Sterling lives in a strange and beautiful place, and because of her magical grandpa she has to balance between school and the world of the supernatural. [RATED YA FOR MILD LANGUAGE AND SOME VIOLENT THEMES]
So I was raised Christian, and was therefor taught that things like tarot were from the devil. But I ended up getting a reading from a friend's mom, and I became fascinated with the cards. I liked using them for characters in RPs. I just recently got my own deck, an Alice in Wonderland themed deck that was a gift from a friend. I love the deck, it's got gorgeous art and it's given me pretty great readings so far. And no I don't think it's devil magic any more.
Also, the fool card frame is the best, I was looking forward to this joke a lot, Coach's big dumb grin hits it home.
I have a friend who created what may still be the only science-based deck, connecting the archetypes in the tradition to their likely antecedents in Real Life; another created a most thoroughly delightful animal deck with which I've accomplished some growth.
You can do readings for yourself actually! There's an online tarot deck you can use, and biddy tarot is a good website for learning the meanings of the cards.
